Summary

Legendary leadership and elite performance expert Robin Sharma introduced The 5am Club concept over twenty years ago, based on a revolutionary morning routine that has helped his clients maximize their productivity, activate their best health and bulletproof their serenity in this age of overwhelming complexity。

Now, in this life-changing book, handcrafted by the author over a rigorous four-year period, you will discover the early-rising habit that has helped so many accomplish epic results while upgrading their happiness, helpfulness and feelings of aliveness。

Through an enchanting—and often amusing—story about two struggling strangers who meet an eccentric tycoon who becomes their secret mentor, The 5am Club will walk you through:

How great geniuses, business titans and the world’s wisest people start their mornings to produce astonishing achievements
A little-known formula you can use instantly to wake up early feeling inspired, focused and flooded with a fiery drive to get the most out of each day
A step-by-step method to protect the quietest hours of daybreak so you have time for exercise, self-renewal and personal growth
A neuroscience-based practice proven to help make it easy to rise while most people are sleeping, giving you precious time for yourself to think, express your creativity and begin the day peacefully instead of being rushed
“Insider-only” tactics to defend your gifts, talents and dreams against digital distraction and trivial diversions so you enjoy fortune, influence and a magnificent impact on the world
Part manifesto for mastery, part playbook for genius-grade productivity and part companion for a life lived beautifully, The 5am Club is a work that will transform your life。 Forever。

Amazing first read of 2022!Love a good personal growth book, and as a natural morning person who fell into a rut, after reading this book I have now joined the 5AM club。 Proud 5AM club member。I do think that there is quite a bit of fluff around the purpose and lessons of the book, and the story is not the best story but it does allow for a better way to put the advice and lessons across to the reader。 If you are able to look past the fluff, and at the actual lessons and habits that can benefit y Amazing first read of 2022!Love a good personal growth book, and as a natural morning person who fell into a rut, after reading this book I have now joined the 5AM club。 Proud 5AM club member。I do think that there is quite a bit of fluff around the purpose and lessons of the book, and the story is not the best story but it does allow for a better way to put the advice and lessons across to the reader。 If you are able to look past the fluff, and at the actual lessons and habits that can benefit your life, then I think this is a great read for anyone。 We all know that not everyone is a morning person and may instead be more productive at night, however even for those who think of themselves as night-owls, take a read- I believe there will still be things that will inspire you in life and possible habits you could still introduce into your daily routines。 One of my top personal growth books, for sure。 。。。more

In short, the insights might look great but I just wish the book was more practical。 。。。more

Erg inspirerend boek, wat niet alleen over vroeg opstaan gaat。 Het deed me denken aan het boek The Alchemist。 Door combinatie tussen fictie en levenslessen wilde ik graag blijven luisteren。

Dan Brown

I hated this book。 Cheesy, 90% fluff, and relentlessly in-the-nose。 Even worse as an audiobook。

Waking up early is good。 Taking all your favorite quotes and trying to construct a parable around them is bad。

I'm ashamed to be one of the 15 million people who bought this book and am concerned that 15 million people HAVE bought this book。 Every terrible book review of this abomination of a "self-help" book is correct。 I had to stop reading when I realised the "artist with dreadlocks" was white。 One of the many problematic tropes this book presents。 Sad。 I'm ashamed to be one of the 15 million people who bought this book and am concerned that 15 million people HAVE bought this book。 Every terrible book review of this abomination of a "self-help" book is correct。 I had to stop reading when I realised the "artist with dreadlocks" was white。 One of the many problematic tropes this book presents。 Sad。 。。。more

The book is stressing a bit too much on especially 5am, is what the title looks like。 Yes, it’s partly true, but the other part is the cream of it。A beautiful story which describes the importance of a great start to a day, the importance of waking up early and the utilisation of those hours。The book is well written, easy to read and it has some thrill in it as well。 Overall, a great book to read and a great habit to install in our systems

Switched to reading the summary of this book halfway instead。

Sherilyn

I love the idea behind getting up early to get a head start to your day。 Do I think this could have been written in half the time by omitting the fiction storyline? Absolutely。 Ready to try to implement some of the teachings。

Hmm。 I enjoy productivity-adjacent books but found the storytelling aspect of this one off-putting/poorly written。 Some of the author's advice (getting 2 90-minute deep tissue massages a week??) was simply unattainable for folks not working in a well-paying 9-5 world, which is a limited scope。 Additionally, I felt there was a lot of conflicting advice。 Overall, I think there's some good material/advice in here (60/10 + 90/90/1 in particular come to mind), I just think the execution could've been Hmm。 I enjoy productivity-adjacent books but found the storytelling aspect of this one off-putting/poorly written。 Some of the author's advice (getting 2 90-minute deep tissue massages a week??) was simply unattainable for folks not working in a well-paying 9-5 world, which is a limited scope。 Additionally, I felt there was a lot of conflicting advice。 Overall, I think there's some good material/advice in here (60/10 + 90/90/1 in particular come to mind), I just think the execution could've been better。 。。。more

One of the most badly written books that I have ever read, a fifth grader could've written a more convincing story, It's a very weird self help book that tries to imitate a novel but drastically fails。Yes there are some good advice here, but for the love of God It could've been like 20 pages or so and then the book would be finished, but I find myself constantly in the midst of a dull story and characters who try to force feed you advice in a non convincing way。I took me months to finish this bo One of the most badly written books that I have ever read, a fifth grader could've written a more convincing story, It's a very weird self help book that tries to imitate a novel but drastically fails。Yes there are some good advice here, but for the love of God It could've been like 20 pages or so and then the book would be finished, but I find myself constantly in the midst of a dull story and characters who try to force feed you advice in a non convincing way。I took me months to finish this book and I really considered dropping it but I had a glimpse of hope that it would turn out good。Ohhh the hours that I've wasted。。 。。。more

Sharma wrote a very long winded, horribly boring, poorly written story to get his main points across。 I would have stopped reading this book after the first few chapters had it not been a book club book。 I found this book overly detailed to describe a simple scene and the excessive use of quotes drove me nuts。 I feel like a lot of his points were either common sense or for those of privileged。 Key takeaways: - wake up early for a more productive day- cut down on screen time - exercise is key- ne Sharma wrote a very long winded, horribly boring, poorly written story to get his main points across。 I would have stopped reading this book after the first few chapters had it not been a book club book。 I found this book overly detailed to describe a simple scene and the excessive use of quotes drove me nuts。 I feel like a lot of his points were either common sense or for those of privileged。 Key takeaways: - wake up early for a more productive day- cut down on screen time - exercise is key- new habits take work and persistency 。。。more

I listened to the audiobook but it was a great book to inspire one to arise early and take charge of one's morning hours while the rest of the world is asleep and what it does to one's own confidence and self image to become a person consistently arising at 5am。I love how it was in story format, really helped to drive the message home。 The steps are really good tools as well。20/20/20 - Movement/Reflection/Growth90/90/1 - 90 days in a row spending 90 minutes on 1st task of importance that would c I listened to the audiobook but it was a great book to inspire one to arise early and take charge of one's morning hours while the rest of the world is asleep and what it does to one's own confidence and self image to become a person consistently arising at 5am。I love how it was in story format, really helped to drive the message home。 The steps are really good tools as well。20/20/20 - Movement/Reflection/Growth90/90/1 - 90 days in a row spending 90 minutes on 1st task of importance that would cause everything else in your life to rise。60 - Working in 60 minute increments。 。。。more

Ugh。 Agree with the others。 Don’t start this。 From the beginning I kept thinking it would get better but no。 The narrative is pretty awful。 I was looking for the practical ideas, which are here and there in the story but you can get those from anyones review or a quick Google search。 It was good for putting me to sleep in between tips。 The ideas for implementing an effective day are useful。 I’ll give him that。
